Every Home Sold Makes Another Hope Safer: Southern Tides Team Partnership Spotlight

At Operation Home, we have the privilege of partnering with businesses that believe success is measured not only by what they achieve, but by the impact they make in our community.

The Southern Tides Team at Realty ONE Group Coastal is one of those businesses.

For realtor Christian Haynie, the connection to Operation Home began many years ago.

Christian was introduced to our organization through Steve Pool, a longtime contractor who has played an instrumental role in supporting our Wheelchair Ramp and Critical Home Repair programs. The two worked alongside one another on several projects, giving Christian the opportunity to see firsthand how something as simple as a safe entrance or accessible bathroom can transform a family’s daily life.

Then, the mission became personal.

While living in Park Circle, Christian’s neighbor suffered a stroke and could no longer safely get in and out of their home. Christian frequently had to jump in to help when they could not safely enter and exit their home. He connected the family with Operation Home, and within weeks, a wheelchair ramp was built.

That experience stayed with Christian and strengthened his desire to continue helping neighbors.

Today, the Southern Tides Team makes a donation to Operation Home’s Heat & Cold Relief programs with every home they sell. Through each closing, new homeowners are already giving back to their neighbors and supporting the community they now call home.

Christian believes the impact of something as simple as a window AC unit can be easy to overlook.

“Turn off your AC for one day during the summertime, and you’ll realize the impact of what this does,” he shared. “Just imagine not having it for years and finally being able to have one spot in your home that is air-conditioned.”

For many families, a window unit is more than relief from the heat. It provides a safe, comfortable space where parents, children, and loved ones can gather during Charleston’s hottest days.

Christian is also thinking ahead, with goals to celebrate future milestone home sales by fully funding additional Operation Home projects like wheelchair ramps, bathroom modifications, and roof replacements for local families.
